Welcome! I am Pinkyhoot (@PinkyhootArt), a Chinese American visual artist based in Utah. I create contemporary surreal paintings in watercolor and gouache: intimate, luminous works that turn everyday spaces into moments of whimsy, warmth, and wonder. My subjects range from the everyday woman to animals, ocean life, and flowers, all living together in a storybook world made for grown-ups who never lost their sense of wonder.

Tucked into many of my paintings are the Orbettes: small, eye-shaped flower creatures that personify our thoughts. They are there to be found, a little surprise for anyone who looks closely. Above all, my work exists to bring wonder and amusement to the people who live with it, a small daily reminder that magic does not have an expiration date.

Before becoming a full-time artist, I spent over a decade as a footwear designer for global brands. When the pandemic brought the world to a standstill, I returned to art and never left.

My work has been exhibited internationally and featured in print and digital platforms.
